The Meaning and Benefit of Kindness
Kindness means to do something for someone else with the intention of helping or making
that person happier. Practicing kindness can be a wonderful way to access and
express unselfish Love.
Approach with Caution
Kindness should always be approached with humility and caution since the ego loves the attention of a thankful person. When
our kindness comes from wanting that attention, this automatically leads to harm
being done to both the giver and the receiver since the gift is not coming from
the Inner Being. It is
recommended that people perform acts of kindness with sincerity and humility to insure that it is the spirit that gives and is being helped (both in the
giver and receiver) and not the ego (the selfish part within ourselves).
When not to be kind?
Another very important point to make is this: One who is Unselfishly Loving will know when to be kind and when to be intense. If a person is
always and unconditionally kind with other people, that person will
logically also tolerate and allow negative and selfish behavior in others. This
is not being truly Unselfishly Loving. Just as the mother should not allow and
tolerate selfish behavior in her child or her child will become 'spoiled', we
should also not unconditionally be kind and allow negative behavior from others.
Through Unselfish Love and humility, one will always do what is best for the
other, regardless if this means busting someone's ego by yelling to
them or being gentle and kind. But it is always done with Unselfish Love.
